Obituary for Alberta "Spooky" Charleston
Obituary Mother Alberta S. Charleston was born in Donalsonville GA on August 23, 1945 to the late Wilmer E. Scott and Hattie Lee Bryant who preceded her in death and her devoted stepfather A.J. Hamilton. On Sunday April 26, 2015, God plucked one of his beautiful flowers. Mother Alberta received her education in the public schools of Decatur County. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined St Paul Primitive Baptist Church where she sang in the choir under the Pastor R.H. Jackson. She later joined Greater Mount Calvary First Born Church under to the leader ship of Bishop Titus Deas Sr. She later joined New Harvest Outreach Ministries under her Brother Bishop James E. Hamilton where she served faithful on the mother board until her health failed. Mother Alberta affectionally called "Spookie" loved cooking, helping others, fishing and being a mother to everyone. On July 20, 1996, she married the love of her life George Charleston. She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband: George Charleston; Two daughters: Bonita (Louis) McGriff of Bainbridge, GA; Lafaye Hamilton; A son: Andre (Naomi) Carter of Fowlstown, GA; Four stepchildren: Demetrics (Derrick) White, Shaquanda (David) Jackson of Quincy, FL; Reggie Charleston of Tallahassee, FL; and LaRon (June) Charleston of Cairo, GA; Five children that she raised as her own: Clifford Thomas, Cedric (Nesha) Thomas, Antwan Thomas, Shakila Porter and Bryan Porter all of Bainbridge, GA; Five siblings: Wilma Jean (Wesley) Porter, James (Bernaldyne) Hamilton, Geraldine (Robert) Sapp of Bainbridge, GA; Linda (Eddie) York and Annie Mearl (James) George of Quincy, FL; Twenty-Eight grandchildren and Four great grandchildren; Sister-in-law: Dianne (Earl) Carroll, Brother-in-law: Elder Wesley (Lillian) Charleston of Quincy, FL; Four God children: Brad Anderson, Mario Porter, Davario Porter, and Angelia (Willie) Smiley. Two special cousins: Silias Bryant and Johnny Mack Tatum. A host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends
