In Loving Memory
Of
Alice Mae Benton
With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well-lived, we celebrate the homegoing of Mother Alice Mae Benton, who peacefully transitioned on May 5, 2025, at the age of 69.
Born on June 12, 1955, Alice Mae was a beacon of faith, strength, and compassion. She was educated at Bethel High School, where she laid the foundation for a life devoted to learning, community, and service. Her spiritual walk was a central part of her journey, and she found deep joy and purpose in her membership at Kingdom Nation Ministries, where she faithfully served as a mother of the church, counselor, and friend to many. She was married to the late Jerry Benton their union two children were born Lakesha Benton and Jermaine Benton.
Alice Mae was preceded in death by her beloved siblings: Nell Stromer, Willie James Johnson, Mary Johnson, Rarletha Johnson, and C.J. Johnson. Though their voices have grown quiet here on earth, we believe they welcomed her with open arms into eternal peace.
She leaves behind a powerful legacy of love and resilience, carried on through her cherished family. Alice Mae is survived by two children: Lakesha Benton and Jermaine Benton; siblings: Juanita Hightower, F.L. Johnson, and Ben Stromer; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. Her love for them was boundless and evident in every smile, hug, and prayer she offered on their behalf.
To know Mother Alice Mae Benton was to experience warmth, wisdom, and unwavering faith. Her home is a haven for laughter and love. She was the kind of woman whose prayers could calm a storm, and whose presence made everyone feel just a little more whole.
As we mourn her physical absence, we also celebrate her spiritual legacy—a legacy that lives on in the hearts of those she nurtured, prayed for, and believed in. She may have departed this earth, but her spirit continues to walk beside us, lighting the way with grace and goodness.
Sleep well, Mother Alice Mae. We love you, and we’ll carry you with us—always.
