Obituary for Alphenia Butler
Sister Alphenia "Bob" Butler, the third oldest of thirteen children, was born in Miller County Georgia, April 13, 1951 to Elma Pugh Butler and the late Eugene C. Butler. Sadly, five sibling have preceded her in death: Elmaree, Shirley, Mary, Charles and Tony. "Bob" accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Hosea Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend William M. Maxwell. She was a graduate of Attapulgus Mount Moriah High School in the Class of 1969. She furthered her education by attending and graduating from South Georgia State College in Americus, Georgia and moved to Atlanta, Georgia to begin her career in nursing. On Monday morning, December 7, 2015 at 4:45 A.M. she departed this life with her mother and her two sisters at her bedside. God saw fit to pluck a flower and He chose our beloved sister. He said come on home my child and take your rest, your work down here is complete. The memories of her life will be forever cherished by her beloved mother: Elma P. Butler of Bainbridge, GA; her daughter: Hope Butler and grandson: Letuan Howard, Jr. both of Bainbridge, GA, sisters: Lois (Leon) Blackstone of Bainbridge, GA and Edna B. Walker of Tallahassee, FL; brothers: Andrew Butler, Sr., of Quincy, FL, Walter Butler and Jerry (Cynthia) Butler, all of Bainbridge, GA, Donald Butler, Jacksonville, FL and Napoleon Butler, Sr., Moultrie, GA. Adopted children, Charles Butler, Jr., Regina Iruevo, Cynthia Brown, Ronnie Butler and Dorian Butler. Goddaughter: April Moore, two special aunts: Martha Johnson and Jessie Vinson, a lifetime friend and classmate, Elzie Kendrick , and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
