Obituary for Antonie (Tony) Gordon
Antonie "Tony" Gordon was born to the late Helena G. Bouie and the late Bobby D. Washington, Sr on June 21, 1972 in Bainbridge, Georgia. He was raised and loved by his faithful and devoted grandmother, the late Mamie R. Gordon. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Willie Zack Gordon, his paternal grandparents Willie and Pearlie M. Washington, maternal aunt Cornelia Robinson and paternal aunts Gloria Pearson, Adell Howard, Carolyn Washington, Lilly Ruth Washington and Lottie Ruth Washington. On July 13, 2014, God saw fit to give Tony eternal rest from his laboring...he had completed his purpose of life. It was time for him to go home and be with his loved ones taken before him. Antonie Gordon accepted Christ at an early age. As he served the Lord, he was appointed to mentoring many young men and women who lack self-esteem, hope and love. Antonie Gordon is a freelance writer and poet. Raising the Standards, this young man writes about the joys and pains of life. He is a graduate of Bainbridge High School class of 1992. He is also a graduate of Fort Valley State University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Education. He was employed with Clayton County Board of Education. Tony has always given credits to the first love of his life, his grandmother Mamie Gordon for his love of words and writings. (David, Sr.) Crawford, Wesley (Mae) Robinson, Jessie Robinson, Dennis Gordon, Odell (Christine) Washington, Brenda Betsey and Annie Ruth Bennett of Bainbridge, Georgia; Maybell Rumph of Quincy, Florida, James (Renee) Washington of Los Angeles, California. Nieces and Nephews Antonio, Zariah, Toby, Jr., Aaron, Tyler of Orlando, Florida; Kyndel of Atlanta, Georgia; Nekaybaw, Shekeria and Dell Jr. of Bainbridge, Georgia.
