Bartel Shanks, Jr. also known as "Man" was born on December 19th 1983in New Bern, North Carolina to the parents, Mr. & Mrs. Bartel Shanks. Bartel was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church under the Leadershipof Pastor Edward Seabrooks. He graduated from, Westover High School in 2003. He was employed with Home Depot Supply Store in Bainbridge, GA. He loved spending time with his family and loved to fish. He was a very generous person who never met a stranger. He lived life to the fullest and was loved by all who came in contact with him. Bartel leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Veronica Bolyard Shanks of Bainbridge, GA; three children, Alexander, Isaiah & Joseph; two loving parents, Bartel& Georgia Shanks of Lee County; two loving grandparents, Bruce & Lillian Marshall of Chicago, IL; a beloved sister, Anastasia Derese Shanks of Leesburg, GA; two grandparents preceded him in death; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
