Celebrating the Life of
Sister Bernice Williams-Walker
Sister Bernice was born on October 14, 1940, in Colquitt, Georgia, daughter to the late Winnie Howard and Willie Gardner was called to join her Lord on March 27, 2024.
In 1958, Bernice was united in holy matrimony with I.V. Walker of Climax, Georgia. Their blessed union saw the birth of three daughters who brought immense joy to their lives.
Bernice began her career in Morristown, New Jersey, where she worked in housekeeping before dedicating many years as a caregiver.
Upon retiring, she spent some time in Jacksonville, Florida, before settling back in Bainbridge, Georgia. There, she was an active member of Saint Paul M.B. Church until she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Bernice was a pillar of strength, love, and generosity, deeply committed to her family and community. Her thoughtful and caring nature touched many lives.
She leaves behind cherished memories for her daughters: Tangie Walker (James), Philla Harris (Derrick), and Belinda Lyon (Tobin); her grandchildren: Derricka Pearson (Corey), Derrick Harris, Jr., Teneick Walker, Shimone Walker, Tobin Lyon II, and Qwadirah Harris, Nafees Lyon; her great-grandchildren: Camern Pearson, Anya Miranda-Walker, Ilya Garcia, and Caris Pearson; along with numerous other family members and friends.
Bernice's legacy of kindness, devotion, and faith will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
