Obituary
Ms. Bertha Louise Kegler was born on February 21, 1941, to beloved Calvin and Luevenia Kegler, in Bainbridge, Georgia. As a child, Ms. Bertha received her primary and secondary education through the Bainbridge, Georgia public school system. Additionally, Ms. Bertha attended St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, NY, and successfully completed her Bachelors of Science Degree in Health Care Administration in 2013.
Ms. Bertha lived most of her adult life in Brooklyn, New York. She worked for several agencies including the United States Public Health Service and the Veteran’s Administration as a Dental Assistant before retiring in 2006. Never one to sit still, Ms. Bertha continued to pursue employment opportunities post-retirement. She concluded her professional career with Allied Universal, a nationally recognized security firm.
Ms. Bertha was a fierce believer in respect, honesty, education, treating others the way they wanted to be treated, and proper etiquette. She valued her independence and took great pride in being self-sufficient. In her leisure, Ms. Bertha enjoyed journaling, cooking (especially biscuits), traveling, and gardening; but her most favorite past time was daily phone conversations with her only child, Vickki.
