Betty Sue Washington was born in Bainbridge, GA on September 12, 1931 to the late Mr. Jake Washington and Gladys Washington. On August 20, 1947 she was joined in matrimony to the late Mr. Curley Heard, Jr. They migrated to Rochester, NY and later returned home to Bainbridge, GA. Later Betty migrated to Miami, FL where she worked and raised her children until retirement. After retirement she decided to move back to Bainbridge, GA where her heart has always been, and joined First African Baptist Church.
On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, God saw a need to give her rest. Betty Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Jake and Gladys Washington, husband Mr. Curley Heard, Jr., sister Ms. Dorothy Washington, brother Mr. Larry Washington, daughter Ms. Vanessa Brown, and son Mr. Toby Brown III. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, daughter Ms. Dorothy Heard (Miami, FL), son Mr. Rodney Jackson/Audrey (Miami, FL), daughter Ms. Tracy Heard (Bainbridge, GA), grandchildren Kim Veal (Nate), Fred Clark, Brian Allen, Deanna Brown, Mark Trimmings, Tiffany Brown, Joshua Brown, Eric Brown, Kristen Hammond, Lashanda Bullock, Jarris Smith, Tasha Rose, Tasheba Young, Rodney Jackson Jr., Sharonda Jackson, Isaiah Jackson, Kia Burrington, and Ciarra Burrington, a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
