Bremen Daniel Thomas
Sunrise: February 11, 1954 Sunset: September 22, 2025
Bremen Daniel Thomas was born on February 11, 1954, in Attapulgus, Georgia, to the late Van Streety and Ruth (Brown) Thomas. He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Olive AME Church in Attapulgus, where he began his spiritual journey.
He received his early education in the local school system and graduated from Mt. Moriah High School in Attapulgus. Bremen went on to pursue vocational training and graduated from Thomasville Technical School in Thomasville, Georgia.
Bremen was a free-spirited individual who embraced life with curiosity and openness. His adventurous nature led him to travel across the country, experiencing life in many places. Of all his journeys, he especially cherished his time in New York City and the meaningful connections he made there. He also wanted to seek a career as a Boxer and Prize fighter. To meet the demands of this career he enjoyed training which included cross country jogging and cycling which he enjoyed. When he was in his prime he would often jog from Attapulgus to Bainbridge, Ga. (13 Miles) on a regular basis. He often commented how fast he was able to do it.
While in New York he often referred to himself as a Street Preacher and that he needed to preach and share the gospel with those who were lost. He often quoted various passages of scripture to anyone who would stand still and listen. For some reason He loved and enjoyed the streets of New York City and always talked about returning there someday. However as he aged and his health started to diminish, he realized that his time had pass and He needed to move on to other things more appropriate for his age.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Van Streety and Ruth Thomas as well as the Mother of His children Mary Caldwell.
Bremen leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Jamie Caldswell; one daughter, Shawan Villanueva; one brother, Lawrence B. Thomas; and three sisters, Ellen Thomas Hobbs, Merlinda Thomas of Attapulgus, and Vernesta Mosley of Alexandria, Virginia. He is also fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
Bremen's life was one of independence, exploration, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
