C.T. Davis was born on August 30, 1942, in Colquitt, Georgia, to the late Gary Davis and Johnnie Mae Burr. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Johnny and Margie Price, his sister Lizzie Mae Butler, and his brother Willie Floyd Davis, affectionately known as “Sambo.”
From a young age, C.T. worked in farming, and though he only completed school through the 9th grade, he later returned to earn his GED, a testament to his determination. He worked for over 20 years at Thomas & Betts before retiring, and later at John B. Sanfillippo & Sons, Inc., a peanut company, until his health began to decline.
C.T. had a lifelong passion for the Atlanta Braves, faithfully supporting his favorite team.
Above all, he cherished his family and did his best to provide for and raise his children. In his final days, he fondly expressed how proud he was of his children,
saying, "We were good kids, and we never gave him any problems."
C.T. leaves behind a loving family to honor his memory, including his son: Pastor Eric T. Davis (Phoebe) of Ludowici, GA; daughter: Sharon Keaton-Byrd (Patrick) of Conyers, GA; three devoted stepdaughters: Wanda Keaton Strong, Belinda Keaton and Tonja Clark all of Bainbridge, GA; sister: Emma Jean Sales of Bainbridge, GA; brother: Roosevelt Burr of Tampa, FL, a special and devoted niece: Joanne Butler of Bainbridge, GA; seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
C.T. Davis's presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
