Life Reflections
With hearts full of love and deep gratitude for his life, we celebrate the legacy of Carlton Dewayne Robinson, who was born on May 21, 1968, to the late Johnnie and Vera Robinson.
Carlton received his early education in the Decatur County School System before relocating to Glendale, AZ, where he graduated from Glendale High School in 1988. He accepted Christ at an early age and carried his faith with him throughout his life.
For over 23 years, Carlton was a dedicated employee of the Leon County Board of City Commissioners – Solid Waste Department, where he served with pride and a strong work ethic. His friendly spirit and dependable nature left a lasting impression on his colleagues and community. Carlton was a devoted husband, father, and friend.
Carlton was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Vera Robinson, his brother Johnny Ray Robinson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 32 years: Leslie Robinson; and three beautiful daughters: LaSaundra Matthews (Tavaris) of Boys Town, NE, Cartisha Robinson of Tallahassee, FL, and Jasmine Hill (Jumar) of San Diego, CA. He is also remembered with love by his mother-in-law: Kathryn Lester; brother: Larry Robinson (Gretchen) of Delta, PA; sister: Charlease Blakely of Macon, GA; and sister-in-law: Paula Robinson.
He is also fondly remembered by aunt Christine Bush of Fort Lauderdale, FL; His memory lives on in his many nieces and nephews: Milton Barkley of Atlanta, GA; Kiel Barkley (Karlene) of Macon, GA; Donnell Robinson of Detroit, MI; Larry Robinson Jr. (Delia) of Parkville, MD; LaTosha Nichols (Michael) of Columbus, GA; Rayetta Robinson Indian Trail, NC, Mercedes Crudup, Winston Salem, NC; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family.
Carlton had a gift for forming lasting connections and welcomed many into his heart and home. He leaves behind a host of adopted children, extended family, and dear friends, including: Cassandra Keaton, Terri Jackson (Mario) of Bainbridge, GA, and his supportive team at the Leon County Transfer Station.
He also shared a special bond with his cousins: Mary Tomlin, Christine Smith, Ollie Burns, Gladys Sanders, and Elizabeth Haire, all of Bainbridge, GA. Carlton will be missed by his in-laws: Phyllis Dew, Paula Robinson of Charlotte, NC; Gerren Chester of Temple, TX; Darius William of Tallahassee, FL; and Derrick Frazier (Monica) of Gainesville, FL.
Carlton Dewayne Robinson was a man of quiet strength, deep love, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His legacy of love, service, and faith will forever live in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
