The Life of Charles Jacob Sanders
“Sonny”
“Uncle Sonny”
Charles Jacob Sanders, 11th child and twin to Charles Etta Sanders was born November 8, 1944, in Decatur County Georgia to Eddie Sanders and Rossie Lee Miller Sanders.
At an early age he was taught about the Lord and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and never departed from his belief and faith.
Charles Jacob Sanders attended and graduated from Hutto High. Soon after he would move to and build a life in New Jersey where he met and married Sherry Diane Brewer July 3, 1966. From this 1966 union came 2 Daughters (Najma (Lynnette) Abdus-Salaam and Carla Sanders).
Charles was affectionately known as Sonny and more affectionately known as Uncle Sonny to a host of nieces and nephews whom he leaves to cherish his memories.
Sonny was very popular and known by many because of his infectious smile, joyous, and celebratory spirit. Everything was a celebration to him. He was always happy and happy to see you. He lived life. He lived a very full life. In his words: “I’ve been around the world and back again, three times, on a mule, backwards”.
Later in life he would move back to his hometown of Georgia where he joined and became a faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Brinson, GA.
Charles Jacob Sanders earned his wings and transitioned onto his Savior June 9, 2023.
Lifetime memories will be forever cherished by his two daughters, two grandsons: (Ashraf Abdus-Salaam and Akram Abdus-salaam). His brother: Reverend Cleveland (Helen) Sanders, two sisters: Ella Mae Flanders and Bertha Lee Washington, several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many friends.

(Helen) Sanders, Marlucious (Nancy) Sanders. His sisters: Addie Lee Wallace, Lillie C. (Cudda) Sanders Hayes and Essie Mae Miller.
It broke my heart to lose you. You did not go alone for part of me went with you when God called you home. Life on earth is but one brief moment in time. Love Sherry
