Obituary for Deacon Charles Wesley "Tibby Burke" Lively, Jr
A Time to Be Born
Deacon Charles Wesley Lively, Jr., affectionately known as "Tibby Burke", was born to Mr. Wesley "Tan" Burke and Mrs. Hazel Lively-Burke on December 17, 1943 in Bainbridge. Decatur County, Georgia. He was the oldest child born to this union. He was adopted and raised in a loving household by his grandparents, the late Mr. Sam Lively and Mrs. Evelyn "Doll" Lively. He attended the public school system of Decatur County, Georgia, graduating from Hutto High School in the Class of 1962.
A Time to Plant
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Pilgrim Rest Church on Cook Town Road. After being away from his home Church for many years he decided to return back to Church and joined the Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church close to his home where he served as a Deacon faithfully until his health begin to fail.
A Time to Love
He was married to Mrs. Irene Hamilton Lively and to this union two sons were born Vidal "Butterball" Lively and Charles W. "Buddy" Lively III, PhD.
A Time to Die
Deacon Charles Wesley "Tibby Burke" Lively, Jr. took his last breath minutes before his wife Mrs. Irene Lively was at his side at Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston, Georgia the morning of Thursday, February 25. 2016 around 10:30 am.
A Time to Mourn
He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Wesley "Tan" Burke and Mrs. Hazel Lively-Burke, his grandparents Mr. Sam Lively and Mrs. Evelyn "Doll" Lively, Mr. Jessie Burke and Mrs. Holley Burke; a brother Mr. Donald "Popcorn" Burke and a son Mr. Cedric Parrish.
He leaves to cherish his memory his lovely wife: Mrs. Irene Hamilton Lively of Atlanta, Georgia; Four sons: Clark Lively of Bainbridge, Georgia, Michael Lively, Vidal Lively and Charles W. Lively, III, PhD. of Atlanta, Georgia. One daughter: Shawn Pugh of Bainbridge, Georgia. Three grandchildren: Patricia Sierra Tarver of Atlanta, Georgia; Malik Horton of Warner Robins, Georgia and Cayden Jones of Bainbridge, Georgia. One brother: Lorenzo "Poolou' Lively of .Wilmington, Delaware. One sister: Janelle "Nooky" Burke of Albany, Georgia. Three sister-in- laws: Joanne (Leonard) Palmer, Jennifer Beard and Marion Bush of Bainbridge, Georgia. Four brother-in-laws: Cornell (Constance) Hamilton and C.J. Hamilton of Bainbridge, Georgia; Isaiah (Gracie) Hamilton of Colquitt, Georgia and Richard (Naomi) Hamilton of Decatur, Georgia. Great Aunts: Deron Patterson and Maria Patterson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Special friends: Mrs. Rosalyn King, Mrs. Lessie Close, Mr. Jimmy Lee Close, Mr. Bobby Jackson and Mr. Larry Sales of Bainbridge, Georgia, Mr. Willie "Bill" Handsford of' Dothan, Alabama; Mrs. Frances Rance of Chicago, Illinois and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends
