Mrs. Clarissa B. Kendrick

Mrs. Clarissa B. Kendrick was the first of four children born to the late Dave Bryant and Mary Sherman in Attapulgus Georgia.
She grew up in Decatur County and began fellowship in Bethel A.M.E Church.
She attended Attapulgus School System in Decatur County. Upon finishing High School, she attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta Georgia where she received a B. A. degree in Biology. After finishing she later went on to Fort Valley State College, Fort Valley GA. Afterwards she attended Florida A.M. University receiving a Master Degree in Education. Her teaching career began in Manchester, GA, afterwards preceded to Decatur County, until she retired with honors. After retirement she later decided to begin her teaching again at Carter Parramore Middle School in Quincy FL. where she finally retired with forty-five years in education. She was a member of the Delta sigma Theta Sorority, Phi Delta Kappa National Sorority, Epsilon Mu Chapter, Bainbridge, Georgia. She served on the Board of Education and member of order of Eastern Star also Secretary of Bethel A.M.E. Church. Clarissa's Legacy will never be forgotten.
Her husband preceded her in death Mr. George Earl Kendrick.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories two children: Donald Nelson of Attapulgus, GA; Pamela Nelson Scott (Melvin) of Pelham, GA; Sister: Melvina Reed of Attapulgus, GA; four grandchildren: Melsaunda Scott of Pelham, GA; Regina Scott Moore (Jeremy) of Camilla, GA; Chelsea and Wimbrelle Scott of Pelham, devoted friend: Ruth Cunningham of Atlanta, GA and William L Nelson of Urbana, OH, Eleven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and others sorrowing family and friends.
