Obituary for Deacon John E. Davis
Deacon John E. Davis was born March 17, 1933 to the late Arthur and Mattie Ruth Davis. He departed his life on February 6, 2016 at his residence. Deacon Davis was united in holy matrimony to the late Ophelia Davis on May 27, 1972 this union five children were born. After the depature of his late wife Deacon Davis met fell in love, and later married Sister Dorthy Mae Bouie they were married for 15 years. Deacon Davis confessed Christ at an early age and joned Mt. Zion M.B. Church were he served faithfully until his departrue. Deacon Davis loved fishing, working in his garden, spending time with his family and always visiting the sick and shut in. Deacon Davis was preceeded in death by three siblings: Lucy M. Jones, Arthur Davis Jr. and Willie B. Davis. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife: Dorothy Davis, Four Daughters: Robin Campbell (Spurgeon Campbell Jr.), Joann Davis, and Shareen Davis all of Bainbridge, GA and Rasheem Edwards of Colquitt, GA; Two sons: Elroy Washingon(Angela) of Rochester,NY; Lamar Washington (Tracey) of Atlanta, GA; Sister: Fannie May Smith (James), Four loving stepchildrens: Tomonia Green (Donald), Deborah Smith (Major), Crystal Bouie and Johnny Bouie; Brother-in-law: James McKay; Sister-in-law: Catherine Williams (Herman); a devoted cousin Theodis Brown and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, niecies, nephews, many sorrowing friends and family.
