Deacon Lester Burns was born Quincy, FL to the parents of Bennie Lee Burns and Carrie Burns. On September 30, 2022, Deacon Lester Burns was granted rest from labor to reward.
Deacon Burns' siblings were Annie Lee Burns, Helen Burns, Dollie Burns, Ozela Burns, Idella Burns, Irene Burns, Edith Burns, Bennie Burns, David Gene Burns, Clifford Burns and Freddie Burns.
In 1954 he married the love of his life and married his wife of 61 years Vallie Burns.
He attended Gadsden County and Decatur County Public School.
He retired from Elberta Box and Crate. One of his favorite hobbies he had was making leather wallets.
In 1952 he joined St Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He served as Deacon for over 40 years. Served on the finance committee, Sunday School, in the choir and served with the willing workers.
He leaves his cherish his memory his daughter/niece: Sonia B. Vickers; grandson: (TJ) Timmy L. Vickers, Jr.; four great grandchildren: Joshua, Ryleigh, Matalynn and Achilleus Vickers; three goddaughters: Grace Arnett, Tamyko B. Chambers and Shirley Pullins; his spiritual adopted family: Pastor John H. Wooden and Family; nieces and nephews other sorrowing and a host of other sorrowing friends and family.
