A teacher, a friend, an advisor, and always a smiling face traded in earthly body for his eternal wings on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at his home in Baconton GA. Deacon Marvin Smith was born On August 16, 1955 to the late Reverend Alfred and Delia Smith Sr. in Camilla GA.
Deacon Smith accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age for 18 years he served as Deacon and Chairman of the Deacons at Greater Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church where he also is one of the founding Fathers.
Deacon Smith retired from Southern Company in Columbus GA, after faithfully working
Forty-two years. He loved spreading the word of God every chance he got. Always
ready and willing to lend a helping hand at a moment notice.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two brothers: Reverend Alfred Smith III and Jeffrey Arnold Smith; as well as one sister-in-law and three brother-in-laws.
To celebrate the life and legacy are a loving and devoted wife to whom he loved dearly: Mrs. Anna T. Smith; three sons: Roddrick Smith (Nicole), Dave Mitchell (Katinna) and Quin Dave Mitchell; two daughters: Markeshia Smith and Brittany Mitchell; Four grandchildren; Jaxon Smith, Dyson Jones, Emoria Johns and Shaolin Johns; Seven siblings: Gloria Johnson, Melvin Smith (Anna Lou), Patricia Jackson (Lucius), Thyron Smith (Dorene), Marty Smith (Darlene), and Earman Smith (Georgette); mother-in-law: Anna Doris Emanuel; a host of aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, friends, coworkers and church members.
