Obituary for Deborah Howard Brown
Deborah was born December 13, 1958 to Ms. Rethema Howard and the late Mr. Willie C. Howard. She was the third child of three siblings. She accepted Christ as an early age at Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist church in Bainbridge, GA. She in 1976 from Bainbridge High School.She began her education at Albany State College, majoring in Secretarial Science in 1976 - 1980. She later returned home and attended Bainbridge College, majoring in Psychology and graduated in 1998 with an Associate of Arts Degree. After graduating from Bainbridge College, she returned to Albany State College, majoring in Early Childhood Education, and minoring in Criminal Justice, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2002. She pursued her aMaster’s of Science Degree from Nova Southeastern University, specializing in Curriculum, Instruction and Technology in 2004. Additionally, she received a Reading Endorsement also in 2004. The next year, she went to Nova Southeastern University, specializing in Curriculum, Instruction, Management and Administration, obtaining an Educational Specialist Degree in 2005. She began a doctorate degree also from NOVA in 2006 and completed all required coursework with the exception of the dissertation. She also received a leadership certification from Albany State University in 2011 and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies at the Doctoral Level in June 2014.
She began her teaching profession as a substitute teacher for many years, and later was hired as a teacher assistant at Hutto Middle School. In 2002, she was hired as an Interrelated Special Education Teacher for 6th, 7th and 8th grades. In 2003, shewas hired as a 3rd Grade Teacher, and taught 3rd grade for four years. I was promoted to Instructional Lead Teacher for 7 years, worked as Migrant Administrator for two years, 21st CCLC Site Coordinator for six years and parental involvement contact for three years and now Assistant Principal.
Deborah passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 11, 2016. Shewas preceded in death by her father Willie C. Howard and sister Dorothy Louise Howard Burke. Deborah leaves to cherish her memoru a loving and devoted husband, James E.
