Obituary for Dollie Mae Lowe
Mother Dollie Mae Pugh Lowe was born on October 22, 1922 to the late Nathaniel and Mary Pugh in Cairo , Grady County, GA, On Tuesday August 16, 2016 at her home, the Lord came and whispered, “Servant of God well done, come and take your rest.”
She attended public school in Georgia, she joined the church at an early age and became a member of Adams Chapel M.B. Church. She served as the President of the Mt. Tabor Building Association and Union Meeting. She also was a member of the Electra Grand Chapter of Georgia for 49 years. She was a foster parent, worked for the Decatur County School System, and Volunteered at the Senior Center.
On April 7, 1940, she married Simon Lowe Sr., and to the union five children was born. She is preceded in death by her husband, four children, sixteen sisters and brothers.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted son: Simon Lowe, Jr., Rochester, NY; Two brothers: Lorenza Pugh(Gloria) West Palm Beach, FL; Oscar Pugh, Miami, FL; Three sisters: Jessie Williams, Philadelphia, PA; Dorothy Pugh, Miami FL; and Mazalene Golden, Havana FL ; Aunt: Reatha Walker, Miami, FL; Brother-in-law: Raymond Lowe of Pontiac, MI; Two sister-in-laws: Mary, Lowe, Philadelphia, PA and Pansey Lowe, Bainbridge GA; 18 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
