Earnest's Obituary
Mr. Earnest Bryant, Sr. was born on November 15, 1942. On April 3, 2021, he answered the call to be with Lord and Savior and claimed his space in His mansion.
Mr. Earnest affectionately called “Bro” or “Brown Eye” accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Moriah II Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Mt. Moriah High School in Attapulgus in Attapulgus GA.
He was united in holy matrimony with Earline Williams for 23 years and to this union two children were born. Later he married Cherry T. Smart and they were married for 28 years.
Mr. Earnest moved to Detroit Michigan where he was employed at General Motors for several years. He later returned home to Attapulgus and began his second career at Engelhard until he became disabled.
Preceded in death by his parents, stepdad: Leroy Cooper, sister: Cora M. Bryant-Holder; brother: Jimmy Bryant.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife of 28 years: Cherry T. Smart Bryant; three children: Angela D. Lightfoot of Attapulgus, GA; Earnest Bryant, Jr. of Tampa, FL; Rita Alford (Earnest) Newark, NJ; two sisters: Louella Larkin of Atlanta, GA; Lillian Williams of Bainbridge, GA; three brothers: Silas Bryant, Jr. of Bainbridge, GA; Willie J. Cooper of Bainbridge, GA; John L. Cooper of Albany, GA; two grandchildren: Cedric T. Johnson of New York, NY; Stephen Lightfoot, Jr. of Tallahassee, FL; three stepchildren: Terrance Hines, Spencer Hines III, Tamesha Hines; 11 grand stepchildren: Macayle Anderson, Tymeshia Ousley, Terrance Hines Jr., Taleigha Hines, Isaiah Hines, Xzorion Akins, Omarion Akins, Arrieanna Hines, Damion Hines, Eddick Smth, and Hailee Murphy; a host of nieces, nephews, and other sorrowing family and friends.
