Obituary for Edwin B. Wims
REMEMBERING EDWIN
Edwin Bush Wims was born on July 29, 1969 to the parents of the late Georgia Mae Wims in the late Dennis Davis.
Edwin found solace in the community at Mt. Ebell Baptist Church and while attending Antioch Baptist Church of Brinson GA, where he enriched his spiritual journey.
He graduated from Calhoun County School where he also left an incredible mark on the basketball court as a formidable player donning number 22 in Edison County Georgia. Edwin was a dedicated construction worker with two decades of unwavering commitment to building the foundation of our surrounding communities.
Edwin departed on December 13, 2023 leaving behind a legacy of hard work, camaraderie he played with on the court, and a deep connection to his faith. His memory will forever echo in the building he helped erected, the points he scored and the prayers shared at Antioch Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death are his parents, sibling: Kent Wims, and bonus son: Alonzo E. Jackson, Jr.
Edwin is survived by his wife: Paula Gordon Wims; children: Adrianna Wims (Jeremy), Edwin B. Wims Jr., Myia Wims, Destini Wims, Bonus children: Starleana R. Gordon, Laremy Gordon, and Keno Johnson; siblings: Latoshia Brown (Desmond), Albany, GA; and host of half sister and brothers; Three aunts: Annie Stringer of Arlington, GA; Everlene Brittin of Lakeland, FL; and Pastor Mary Taylor of Atlanta, GA; a special cousin that he loved dearly: Brent Taylor and a host of sorrowing family and friends.
