Obituary
Brother El Ja Sheffield was born on March 16, 1949 to the parentage of the late Obie Sheffield and Addie Mae Gadson Sheffield, in Decatur County Georgia he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Kenneth Sheffield.
Brother Sheffield was educated in the Bainbridge Decatur County Georgia School System.
After graduating high school he served in the United States Air Force.
He accepted Christ at an early age and became a part of the Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church Decatur, County Georgia. Brother Sheffield later joined the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Bainbridge Georgia under the leadership of Reverend Cleveland Sanders.
His memory will be cherished by his devoted wife: Brenda Miller Sheffield; two daughters: Vanessa Thomas (Keithon), Erin Natasha McLemore, Albany, Georgia; brother-in-law: Charles Miller (Maybelle) Bainbridge, Georgia; six devoted sibling: Ozie Sheffield Pace, Albany, Georgia; Edna Sheffield Martin (Ernest); Sharolyn Sheffield Barnes (Jerome), Bainbridge, Georgia; Norman Sheffield (Jacqueline) Upper Marlboro, Maryland; Subrena Sheffield Hurd (Robert), Royse City, Texas; Darrell Sheffield (Juanita), Jacksonville, Florida; two loving aunts: Junor Gadson Bell, Bainbridge, Georgia and Lessie Sheffield Burr, Chesapeake, Virginia; a loving cousin: Ruenell Florence; two granddaughters: Regina Stubbs and Jordan Thomas, Albany, Georgia; seven nieces, fifteen nephews; and a host of great-great nieces and great-great nephews, cousins and friends.
