The Obituary
Mother Emma Lee Johnson Montgomery, affectingly known as “Mother” to all that knew and loved her was born to the late Rev and Mrs. Henry Johnson on December 8, 1906. Mother was born and raised in Colquitt, Georgia before later moving to Bainbridge Georgia.
Mother was married to the late Otto Montgomery. Mother loved children and helped raised several nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends throughout her lifetime.
Mother was an active and faithful member of the Mt. Zuma M.B. Church. Mother was in the Choir and attended services faithful until her health declined.
Mother was a natural born nurture that enjoyed sewing, gardening, raising chickens, helping others and spending time with family. Mother’s sense of humor was infectious to all that came around her.
Mother was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Henry Flowers, Husband Otto Montgomery, Four sisters: Mrs. Katie Melvin, Mrs. Lula Moore, Mrs. Minnie Lee, and Mrs. Fannie Gilbert; Two brothers: Rev. Bob Johnson and Mr. Buddy Johnson; daughter: Betty J. Washington; Grandson: Rev. Adolph Noble Sr.; Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mother leaves to cherish her precious memories a devoted grandson: Deacon Calvin Davis of Bainbridge GA; devoted granddaughter: Mrs; Linda Frenchwood of Bainbridge GA; stepdaughter: Easter Holt; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
