Reflection of Life
Sister Ernestine "Goat" Murphy was born on August 17, 1955, to the late Earnest Sr. and Johnnie Mae Sapp. On July 30, 2024, she gained her heavenly wings.
A faithful member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church, Ernestine was deeply committed to her faith under the guidance of Pastor Arthur L. Powell. Her dedication to serving others extended through her 30-year career as a devoted nurse, holding both LPN and RN credentials. Ernestine found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including watching wrestling, fishing, assembling puzzles, and spending cherished moments with her family.
She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Eddie J. Murphy, her parents, Earnest Sr. and Johnnie Mae Sapp, her brother Earnest Sapp, Jr., and her sister Joanne Harrell.
Ernestine leaves behind a loving family to honor her legacy: her two daughters: Tawana Murphy of Bainbridge, GA, and Xylina Davis of Atlanta, GA; son: Lydell Murphy of West Palm Beach, FL; seven sisters: Sally Mae Hicks (Charles) of West Palm Beach, FL; Connie Mitchell (Robert) of Indiana, Mildred Williams (Tyrone) of Thomasville, GA; Lashia Carter (Learon) of Attapulgus, GA, Tunja Harrell (Terrence) of Bainbridge, GA, Sherrie Taylor (Dion) of Indiana, and Natoria Evans (Willie) of California; and two brothers: Dante Price (Tyrunsi) of Indiana, and Terrellist Price (Margaret) of Cape Coral, FL. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Tiara Bell, Josha Davis, Jeffrey Davis, Jr., and Jakayden Miller; a host of in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, sorrowing friends, and her best friend: Charletha Bandge.
Sister Ernestine Murphy's presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
