Obituary for Ethel F. Howard
Mother Ethel Frances Howard was born in Donalsonville, Georgia to the late Harold and Rose Green on March 29, 1933. She was the youngest of four children. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Green, Allen Green, and West Green, one son Steven and her sister Pamela.
She graduated from Hutto High School in June 1951. She loved to read and write letters to family and friends. Often more times than not, you could always find her giving advice to friends and family on the telephone.
The hallmark story of Ethel Frances Howard was her amazing ability to provide, protect and serve her family and friends. At the same time, she kept up with other people and families in her neighborhood and maintained a healthy relationship with people she met on her jobs.
Her knowledge, strength and wisdom were all based on the bible and her faith in God was undeniable. Understanding and believing in God, she joined St. Mark FWB Church and became an active member. In later years she united with Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in various roles until her health failed.
She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Ulysess Howard on November 26, 1964 in Donalsonville, Georgia and lived and worked together until her earthly duties were up on June 10, 2017.
She worked at Elberta Crate and Box Company for a number of years. Later on, she worked for Holiday Inn in Bainbridge and finally after twenty plus years at Amoco Fabrics (Bainbridge Mill), she retired in1993.
"Ma Dear" will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Her love for people was genuine. She has left us all with guidelines on how to live life filled with truth, trust and respect.
To cherish her memory, she leaves a husband of over 50 years, Ulysess Howard; Two daughters: Carolyn and Annie; Three sons: Willie, Larry and Wayne; Eight grandchildren: Daryl, Jasmine, Jarquarius, Paulette, Alexandria, Mischa, Hannah and Ramena and many other sorrowing family and friends.
