Obituary
Brother Ezell Walker, Sr. was born on September 19, 1933 in Colquitt, Georgia. He was the son of the late David Walker and Annie Lou Walker Miller and Ed Miller. All parents proceeded him in death and son, Danny Ezell Walker, Jr. also proceeded him in death along with four siblings. Ezell attended public school in Miller and Early counties.
He was baptized as a young man and became a Deacon of Salem Freewill Baptist Church in Damascus, Georgia under Reverend J. W. Whitehead. He later relocated his membership to New Salem in Bainbridge, Georgia under Pastor Archie Crews and was a dedicated member until his health declined.
Ezell worked at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital and Manor for 31 years. He was the Supervisor of Housekeeping department. Even in his retired years, he received several compliments of how clean he kept the hospital and often of his integrity and dedication.
He met and married Lola Mae McCarthon and they were married 55 years. His wife describes him as a loving husband, a good father, a good man who loved his family and God. He was her best friend. Ezell was a kind individual, soft spoken, but gave sound advice.
