Obituary for Fredrick E. Moten
Brother Fredrick "Gene" Moten was born on August 17, 1961 to Hirtes Lee Moten Sr. and Frances Marie Wilson Moten in Bainbridge, Georgia.
At an early age he gave his life to Christ joining Second St. James Missionary Baptist Church.
Upon graduating from Bainbridge High School he enlisted in the US Army National Guard on May 10, 1979 (stationed at Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri) and served until his Honorable Discharge on July 1, 1994 as an E-4 Combat Engineer. While enlisted he received the Army Service Ribbon, Arcam 2nd Award, and the SW Asia Medal.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Dorothy Fountain Moten; three daughters Letitia Oliver (Anthony) Senena Murphy and Andreika Harper; grandchildren: Sanaya, Bryonna, Daveon, Jasiyah, Destinei, Ahlivya, Ashtoine, Bailey and Rashawn; siblings: Vivian Moten of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Emma Rose Frazier, Carrie Moten, Hirtes Jr. (Tracy), Dexter Moten, Quintina (David) Williams and Shannon(Chris) Wimberly and Victor (Rosalind) Royal of Tennille, Georgia. His devoted friends: P.Q., David, A.C. and Bryan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
