Mr. George Earl Kendrick

Mr. George Earl Kendrick was the first of five children born to the late Rarcel Sr. and Mary Love Kendrick on September 12, 1926 in Oglethorpe, Georgia. One child Rarcel Kendrick Jr. proceeded him in death.
He was rooted in Macon County where he grew up and began fellowship in Jehovah Baptist Church. He was a very faithful member until moving to Decatur County where he became a member of the First African Baptist Church in Bainbridge, Georgia.
He attended the Oglethorpe Resenwald School, Macon County. Upon finishing High School, he enlisted in the military. He was a World War II Veteran. At the end of the war he came back home and enrolled in Tuskegee Institute under the G.I Bill. Later he attended the former Fort Valley State College, Fort Valley, Georgia. He was the recipient of a B.S. Degree in Agriculture Science. His teaching career began in Rochelle, Georgia. Later he became principal at Flint River Farm school. Later taught at Ideal Elementary School, Ideal, GA.
The following summer he met Clarissa at Fort Valley State University, Fort Valley, Georgia. He married her June 4, 1964. Then he moved to Decatur County and was employed at Hutto Middle School.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories a devoted wife: Clarissa S. Kendrick; step children: Donald Nelson and Pamela Nelson Scott; sisters; Marietta Vandivier, Detroit MI; Blanchie Hosley, Oglethorpe, GA; brother: Arthur Lee Kendrick, Oglethorpe, GA; Two sisters-in-law; Mrs. Melain Reed, Attapulgus, GA; Mrs. Jeanie Kendrick, Oglethorpe, GA; A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
