Obituary for George Richard Dennis Jr.
George Richard Dennis Jr. was born in Brinson, GA on November 23, 1924 to the late George Richard Dennis Sr. and Rose (Ruth) Bell Jefferson. He was the third of six children, four which has preceded him in death were; Serena, Wallace, Marie and Francis. Others who also preceded him in death were his wife Dorothy, (Aunt Dot), his two children, (Son) Lenoris Bush, (Daughter) Denise Rivers.
Uncle George attended Brinson Vocational High School the 10th grade. From there he enlisted to the U.S. Army he would serve from May 13, 1943-February 2, 1946 and was Honorably Discharged. In September of 1950 he reentered military service for a second time, serving until May 1954. Uncle George seen action in both World War II and the Korean War.
After being departed from the Military, Uncle George resided in Bainbridge, GA until 195, the tie in which he moved to Miami, FL, where he lived until this demise. Uncle George loved for his craft as a roofer, providing 37 years of service for Palmers Roofing Company, where his skills elevated him from foreman to superintendent. On August 8, 1994 he retired from his most loved profession.
Uncle George truly loved his family, for there was nothing that he wouldn’t have done for his family members, if it was within his power. For surely his legacy of love, care and presents will forever be misses. He leaves behind his only remaining sibling, (sister) Madis Dunbar of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a daughter-in-law, Helen Goddard, one granddaughter Patricia Adams and great granddaughter Scarlett of Salt Lake City, Utah; one grandson Deon Rivers of Sunrise, FL., and host of other relatives and friends.
