Obituary for George W. Woods
A wonderful fight and unselfish life ended Monday morning, February 6, 2017, when Brother George W. Woods departed his earthly life and received his heavenly wings.
Brother George W. Woods was born February 22, 1929 to the late Reverend H.A. Woods and Louisana Williams Woods.
He was baptized at an early age and attended Ebenezer AME Church in Virginia.
He received his education at Rosenwald Elementary and later went to Wytheville Training School.
In 1950, he joined the Army and served during the Korean conflict. After serving in the military, he moved to New York where he met his future wife Greatell M. Bouie.
Brother Woods worked for many years in Import/Export Services and eventually retired.

Wright, GA; Michael Woods, Damian Woods, Alonzo Good and Christopher Wright Jr. , NY; great grandchildren: Kalea Wright, TX, Dasean Woods, Amora Woods, Saraji Good, Malcohm Woods, Anaiyah Woods, NY and Christopher M. Wright, Jr., GA; son-in-law: Ronald Headley, NY; a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Three brothers preceded him in death.
