Obituary

Mrs. Jacquelyn Yvonne Campbell Franklin was born October 4, 1933 the daughter of the late Thelma Campbell and Mattie Black Campbell in Bainbridge, Georgia.

“Jackie” as she was affectionately known, attended the Elementary school of Decatur County, and graduated from Hutto High School in the class of 1950. She continued her education first at Albany State College and later at Florida A and M. College where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 1955.

Jacquelyn accepted Christ as her personal savior in the days of her youth and joined Nelson Chapel A.M.E. Church. She sang in the Senior Choir and served on the Stewardess Board. Each year during the summer she shared her talents in the Vacation Bible School. In July, 2007 she felt the call to Ministry and performed her Trial Sermon at Nelson Chapel A.M.E. Church. She remained a faithful member of her church until her health began to fail.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Seaborn Franklin and to this union one son, Seaborn Dwayne was born.

Mrs. Franklin served the Bainbridge-Decatur County Community as an elementary school teacher and after 30 years of dedicated serviced she retired in 1995. She received many plaques and certificates of appreciation for services rendered. She was a proud and active member of Epsilon Mu Chapter of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Incorporated.

She leaves to cherish her memories: ONE SON: Seaborn Dwayne Franklin of Winter Haven Florida; ONE SISTER: Mrs. Cassie Pugh Hale of Stone Mountain, Georgia; SEVEN GRANDDAUGHTERS: Paula Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia; Michelle Franklin Dieudonne (Tony) of Polk City, Florida; Tashay Summerall of Colorado; Lakyrra, Candice and Shaniah Franklin of Auburndale, Florida; Monica Hale of Lithonia, Georgia; TWO GRANDSONS: Michael Franklin of Davenport, Florida and Reginald Franklin of Auburndale, Florida; THREE GREAT GRANDDAUGHTERS: Tezelli Franklin, Tynesia Dieudonne and Selena Summerall; EIGHT GREAT GRANDSONS: Jalen Tommie, Malik Franklin, Bertony Jr., and Braedon Dieudonne, Laneiah and Jarius Williams, Noel Cruz, and Micah Jenkins; THREE NIECES: Deidra (Jeffrey) Jones, Sharon and Regina Campbell; TWO NEPHEWS: Steven and David Campbell; a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
