Dedicated husband, father and grandfather describes James Evans. He suffered a sudden illness and passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018 in the comfort of his home.
James was born to the late Bennie and Electa Evans on February 22, 1945. He attended Decatur County School at Attapulgus Mt. Moriah.
He was employed at Englehard Mine for many years. Afterwards, he was employed at Honda Proctor and later ventured out and became self-employed.
September 1965, he wed to his lovely wife, Martha K. Evans and was married for 53 years.
His parents, Bennie and Electa Evans; brother, Aaron Evans and two sisters, Bertha (Linda) Williams and Carolyn White all preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Martha K. Evans; sons, Mark A. Evans, Donterrance O. Evans, Glenn Cooper (Demetrice) and James D. Evans (Chiquita); daughters, Stephanie D. Mitchell (Freddie) and Sherri Stubbs (Demetric); three sisters, Cathy Bradshaw (Rod), Gloria Gene Turner (Michael) Helen Mills (Clisby) nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four special friends: Walter Anderson, Curtis Dowdell, Earnest Bryant and Lawrence Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.
