Reflections of Life
Johnnye Mae Mickens was born July 28, 1935, in Crisp County, Cordele, Georgia. The date of her passing was Friday, May 10, 2024, at her residence. Her parents are the late Dora Frances Tomlin Green and the late Will Jackson.
In 1975 she joined the Kingdom Hall and was baptized shortly after.
She earned her diploma and graduated from Warm Springs School for the blind.
She was a concert pianist in her early years and was instrumental in being selected as one of the first to receive the honorary award for her accomplishments from President Ronald Reagan. In 1984 was also honored with the key to the city of Bainbridge, Georgia for being nationally recognized as a disabled woman of the year.
She was employed and retired from Georgia Industry for the blind.

Johnson (Michelle) of West Palm Beach, FL; Fifteen grandchildren: Kenya Santiago, Keysha McGill, Ricky Jonson of Texas; Christopher Johnson of Maryland; Lakeysha Glenn of Maryland; Malekia Glenn of Texas; Wallace Johnson, Jr. of South Carolina; Courtney Johnson of Bainbridge, GA; Deon Johnson of Bainbridge, GA; Kenneth McCoy of Texas; Clifton Samuel III of Texas; Malcolm Shepard of Texas, Malik Shepard of Texas, and Irma Johnson Gonzalez of Texas; Arya Freedom Brouillette Johnson of West Palm Beach, FL; 44 great grandchildren and one niece: Patricia Sutton (Percy) of Texas; and a host of Family and Friends.
