Obituary for Katherine Willis
Sister Katherine "Kate" Willis was born on April 20, 1959 to Obadiah and Laura Mae Willis in Amsterdam, Georgia. She departed this life on the evening of November 13, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She gained her education in the Decatur County school system. She came to serve the Lord at an early age at Smith Grove Missionary Baptist Church under leadership of Reverend S.E. Ealy. Kate became a faithful usher and continued to serve at Smith Grove through the change of leadership to Reverend Levi Kelly. She was a lover of life. She loved people, she loved to be happy and she had a special way to make anyone laugh. She always met a friend and never knew a stranger. She could talk to anyone and for this she will truly be missed. Kate was preceded in death by her parents OB and Laura Mae; a bonus parent Ulysses Williams; three brothers; Arnie Williams, Otis Buck Willis, and Larry Willis; two sisters; Betty Jean Willis and Gloria Campbell. She leaves to cherish her memory two loving daughters; Stephanie Willis and Whitley Willis of Bainbridge, GA; two beautiful granddaughters Zoey and Zaria. Five sisters; Rosa Harper of Cairo, GA, Dorothy Flanagan (Joseph) of Quincy, FL, Janet Peterson of Bainbridge, GA, Annett Colbert (Monroe) of Atlanta, GA and Gladys Davis of Bridgeton, NJ. Three brothers; Carl Williams (Geraldine) of Bridgeton, NJ, Marcus Williams (Sharon) of Chattahoochee, FL and Lenard Davis (Evelyn) of Dallas, TX. A special mother, Amanda Williams and extended Jackson siblings. Four aunts; Sara Casteel of Fowlstown, GA, Aliyah Pearl Omar of Columbia, MD, Lillie McDuffie of Attapulgus, GA and Norma Peterson of Quincy, FL. Nieces; Gwen, Chiquita, Keisha, Tori, Ashley, Sondra, Shandricka, Shannon, Reynelda, Jasmine, Jordan, Jaylynn, Keely and Amiaya. Nephews; Floyd, Shawn, Larry Jr., John, Thomas Jr., Brian, Charvas, Jamar, Christopher, Tramaine, Donovan, Allen, Henry and Edward III and extended nieces, nephews, cousins and very special friends; Janet Williford and Ruth Green.
