Obituary for Kenneth B. McCoy
Reflections of Life
Kenneth Bernard McCoy was born on December 18, 1961, to the late Mack Charles McCoy, Sr. and the late Inez Byrd McCoy. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and friend whose presence brought warmth and light to all who knew him.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Henderson Byrd, Sr. and Kenneth Jackson; grandmothers, Bertha Roy Lee and Lois McCoy; and his dear brothers, Mack Charles McCoy, Jr. and Albert Sterling McCoy.
At an early age, Kenneth gave his life to Christ and became a member of Bethlehem Freewill Church, where his faith took root. He worked faithfully at Decatur Gin Company until his health no longer allowed him to do so.
Kenneth will be deeply missed by his devoted wife, Bertha McCoy of Bainbridge, GA, and his loving children: daughters Cameka Beard-Knight (Sean) and Shenesi Lashaun Farmer (Cornelious); and sons Adrian Jarreau Jakes, Ryan Florence, and Kenneth McCoy, Jr.
He also leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Bonita Mitchell (Gary) of Bainbridge, GA; two brothers: Greg McCoy (Wanda) of Bainbridge, GA, and Patrick Byrd (Sharon) of Conyers, GA; as well as special aunts and uncles—Lottie (Henry), Henderson (Anita), Betty Harris, Annie Addy; great aunt Maddie; and uncles Wallace McCoy and Willie McCoy.
Kenneth’s legacy lives on through his many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Though he may be gone from our sight, Kenneth’s love, laughter, and kind spirit will continue to inspire and comfort us in the days ahead.
