A Celebration of Life

Deacon Leon Charles Peterson

“For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

Timothy 4:6-8

On March 28, 2024, Deacon Leon Peterson made his transition when God called him from Labor to Reward at his residence in Colquitt, Georgia with his loving wife by his side.

Leon Charles Peterson was the second child born to the late Williams Charles Peterson, Sr. and the Late Ruthie Lee Glover on December 23, 1956.

Leon Peterson accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Colquitt, Georgia where he served and grew to know Christ as his personal savior. He later moved his membership to Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Brinson, Georgia where he served as Deacon and Usher faithfully until his health failed.

Leon received his education through the Miller County School System, where he enjoyed playing basketball and football.

Leon was humble, compassionate, and full of laughter. He had a big heart and love for everyone he encountered. He was employed with Amoco Fibers for 29 years and Ichaway Plantation for 2 years.
