REFLECTIONS OF HIS LIFE AND LEGACY
Leonard Anderson, Sr. was born March 20, 1955, in Attapulgus, GA to the late Lindsey Sr. and Allie Mae Anderson. He was also preceded in death by his sister Gloria Jean Carr, his brotherLindsey Anderson, Jr., and his grandson Tyren Jones.
Leonard attended Mount Moriah Baptist Church #2 where he was eventually ordained in 2017and preached his first sermon. He worked various jobs throughout his early life until he became a truck driver. His road name was “Georgia Black Snake”; he truly loved and was dedicated to
his calling. Leonard was happiest when he was on the road. He talked about all the places he had visited and how he loved to watch the beautiful sunsets out west. He spent much of his time on the road talking with family and friends and enjoying the sites he encountered along the way.
He would often hold Bible study on social media to spread the Word of God.
Leonard is survived by his wife Cynthia Anderson; his children, Annette Anderson, Cherika Anderson, Leonard Anderson, Jr. (Kimberly), Dennis Williams (Latoya), Travis Anderson (Cassandra, James Anderson (Amanda); his stepchildren, Ciara Griffin and Craig Griffin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings and their families, Lawrence Anderson, Shirley Anderson Douglas (late Michael Douglas), Charles Anderson, Rose Mack (Alexander), Jackie Anderson (Betty), Michael Anderson (Deloris), Carol Green (Melvin), Kirksey Anderson, Sylvia Hughes (Travis), Arlesa Robinson (James). His memory will also be cherished by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many others who loved and greatly respected him.
Leonard will be greatly missed, but the memory of him will never fade. For those who are heavy- hearted over his passing and have a strong faith and trust in the Word of God, know that we will see him again. We also know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Leonard is alive in spirit. He is no longer tired and in pain but is strengthened and free of suffering. This fact is what gives us solace as we grieve our loss. Only God gives us that comfort and strength, and for that, we are grateful.
We love you Leonard! Always and Forever!
