Obituary for Lora Thompson
Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12 Sister Lora Ann Thompson, "Lois" as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was born on July 1, 1962 to the David and Mattie Jackson. Lora attended the public schools of Decatur County. She attended Bainbridge College where she became a LPN. She was a member of Second St. James Missionary Baptist Church where served as Senior Choir President. She was employed by Bainbridge State Hospital for 15 years. She worked for The Urology Institute & Continence (Dr. Frank Glover) and Rainbow Pediatric Associates P.C. (Dr. Marsha Glover) until her health failed. On Sunday November 15, 2015, the LORD called her to rest at the home of her mother. Her father David Jackson and her sister Alesia Jackson preceded her in death. Lora leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband: Dewey Thompson, two sons: Dewey Thompson Jr, and Brandon Thompson all of Bainbridge, GA; a devoted and loving mother: Mattie Jackson, Bainbridge, GA; her second mother Pauline Love Gaines; four devoted brothers,: Juno Jackson, David (Mary) Jackson, Kenneth (Cassandra) Jackson all of Bainbridge, GA; Undrea (Shakitta) Jackson, Columbus, GA; one sister: Rovesiah Jackson; four devoted brother-in-laws: Watson (Effie) Thompson, Nathaniel (Catherine) Thompson, both of Miami, FL; Errol (Wendy) Thompson, Jonesburg, GA and one sister- in -law: Marvine Thompson, Miami, FL; a devoted grandson: Santana Thompson; two loving best friends Mashawn Mendez and Phyllis Travis; five loving aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other loving relatives.
