Obituary for Loretta H. Murphy
Sister Loretta "Retta" as she was affectionately called by her family and friends was the youngest of eleven children born to Willie and Bessie Hayes on March 24, 1952. Two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death. Retta confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of the Union Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Hammond. She attended the Public School of Decatur County, and received her high school diploma from Northern High school in Detroit Michigan. Retta moved back to Bainbridge and later met and married Nicholas Murphy. Retta enjoyed fishing and taking care of her family, and doing whatever she could for the elderly in the community. Loretta leaves to cherish her memory husband: Nicholas Murphy; Two sons: Dejuan and Nicholas Jr.; One daughter: Katina Adams; Three grandchildren: Jada, Alicia and Wendy; One great-grand son: Zion; Five sisters: Mattie Jackson of Bainbridge, GA; Ruth Daniels, Shirley Burnett, Vera Bostick, and Anna Blocker all of Rochester, NY; Aunt: Ms. Mamie Rambo and her best friend/cousin: Faith Sister Louise Jackson-Hayes: A host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
