Obituary for Louis C. Curry Sr.
~OBITUARY~
Louis Calvin Curry, Sr. (affectionately known as LC) was the first child of the late Jasper Curry and Ophelia Williams Curry, born on August 28, 1942, in Newton, Baker County, Georgia.
He married his high school sweetheart Joy Dean Battle on October 23, 1964. If anyone were in LC’s presence during the last 5 years, he often said only Joy’s cooking would do! “Nobody can cook like my wife!”
Leaving to cherish his memories are his children: Gregory (wife-Maria), (Grandchildren) Gregory Jr, Gerell, Kevin, Na’Kymbra, Ja’Juan, Liyah; Louis Calvin, Jr. (Grandchildren) Shatara, Joyasia, Christopher, Marcus; Diane Henry (Grandchildren) Tyjuan, Bryan, Andre; (Great-Grandchild) Meleah. Brothers: Jasper, Willie David; Johnny Lee (Mary); Sisters: Essie Davis, Selimah Sanders, Rhunette (Larry) Diggs, Dollie, Jean Baker, and Melanese (Henry) Denson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
As LC’s independence waned in the last years, his sisters Dollie, Selimah; his brother David; and friend Rhonda King (called cousin) were his caregivers. Cousins Hattie Turner, Mamie Lockett, and friends Eddie Turner and Willie Moore offered loving support as needed.
