Obituary for Lucille Mitchell
Sister Lucille Mitchell “Mother” was born to the late Johnny Lee Jackson and Bessie Mae Jackson on November 29, 1916.
She joined Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church in on Fowlstown Road at a young age. She moved to Metcalf Georgia, while there she attended Friendship Baptist Church. Mother Mitchell then moved to Thomasville Georgia and worked at Sunnyland Poultry Company for many years. When here health started to decline she moved to Attapulgus Georgia closer to her family who provided her care. In 2005, she moved to Memorial Hospital and manor until she was called home.
She leaves to cherish her many memories her only child: Nora Fluitt Roan; Eight grandchildren; Fannie Yates, Bainbridge, GA; Cassandra Underwood, Thomasville, GA; Richard Road (Edith) Havana, FL; Christine Roan, Tampa, FL; Willie Roan, Miami, FL; Bobby Roan, West Palm, FL; Alexander Roan (Jaanta) Cairo, GA; Timothy Roan, Attapulgus, GA; Special niece: Nina Richardson; Special Nephew: James Baker; 26 great grandchildren’s, 30 great grandchildren 3 great great great children a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and other sorrowing family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Junior Roan, and two grandsons: James Roan and Curtis Roan.
