Lula Mae Venisee, the daughter of the late Charlie and Doris (Floyd) Venisee, was born on Christmas day, 1944. She was the first child of seven.
She was born and raised in Bainbridge GA. When she reached 18 years of age she moved to Rochester NY.
She had one daughter Regina Denise Venisee-Lawhorn, who she dedicated her life to. She loved and cherished her and took care of her as a single mother. They were always together, all the way to the end. Lula was the definition of a diva, she was always put together, never a hair out of place. She was lovingly dubbed "the supervisor" because she had to take control of every situation. And give orders so that it can be done the "right way".
Lula worked at Monroe County social services for 35 years as a case worker until she retired in 2004. She enjoyed being retired and when the opportunity presented itself, she moved to Huntsville AL. In 2008, with her sister gloria and her daughter Taylor.
Lula always said she wanted a son. God blessed her with 3 grandsons J'quay, Paris and London of Huntsville AL and one great-grandson Zamari, also of Huntsville AL. She was so proud of all her grandsons, and she said Zamari was the icing on the cake! She was head over heels for him when he arrived! She had all the sons she wanted and loved them with her whole heart.
Lula is preceded in death by her parents: Charlie and Doris Venisee, two brothers: Wayne Venisee and Bobby Venisee (Yvonne), her only sister: Gloria Venisee, her niece: Alonda Taylor Venisee and nephew: Bobby Venisee, Jr.
Those who will cherish her memory are her daughter: Regina Denise Venisee-Lawhorn (Jessie), 3 grandsons: J'quay Venisee, Paris Lawhorn (Yasmine) and London Lawhorn; great-grandson Zamari Marquis Venisee all of Huntsville, AL; 3 brothers: Charles Venisee of Rochester NY, Jack Venisee and Curtis Venisee (Gail) of Bainbridge, GA; Her niece: Lisa Venisee -Thompson (Donald) who she said was more of a daughter than a niece, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
