Obituary
Lynda Jean Crawford, was born on March 6, 1957, to Cleola and Eddie McGowan in Bainbridge, GA. After a life filled with love, strength, and service, Lynda peacefully passed away on July 15, 2025.
Lynda was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, known for her unwavering dedication to her family and her church, Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Her love for her family and her faithfulness to her church community were the cornerstones of her life. Lynda’s nurturing spirit and caring heart touched all who knew her.
Left to mourn her passing are her son, Kenneth J. McGowan of Bainbridge, GA, and her grandson, Kenneth J. McGowan, II, also of Bainbridge, GA. She is also survived by her loving siblings: Eddie McGowan, Jr. (Dorinda) of Dothan, AL; Lurnorris aka Leonard McGowan of Bainbridge, GA; Cynthia McGowan-Spaulding of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Twana McGowan-Wright (Don) of Port St. Lucie, FL; and Bruce McGowan of Bainbridge, GA. In addition, she is lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing family and friends
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, Cleola and Eddie McGowan.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Mitchell and Mrs. Cynthia Mitchell of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church for their friendship, kindness, and unwavering devotion during this time.
Lynda’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends. Though she is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing that she rests peacefully in God’s loving arms.
