Marcus Clark, Sr., a longtime resident of Vada, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on September 11, 1930, Marcus was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Marcus Clark was an active Deacon and member of Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Bainbridge, GA. for over 40 years. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Marcus is survived by his wife of 67 years: Ethel M. Clark (Vada), children: Marcus Clark, Jr. (Maryland), Valerie Clark Trainer (Ohio), Earlene “Nina” Clark Walden (Leesburg), Shirley Clark Edmond and Cindy Clark (both in Atlanta), and Felecia Stokes Johnson (Virginia). Marcus is also survived by two brothers: Wilmer Clark (California) and Alton Clark (New Jersey), and a host of grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A private viewing (immediate family only) to honor Marcus will be held at Bruton Mortuary, 635 S. Bruton St, Bainbridge, GA 39819, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at noon. A public viewing for Marcus will be held immediately following that from 1:00p.m. – 2:00p.m. to allow friends and other relatives to say their farewells. Flowers, cards and any other sympathy notes sent directly to the funeral home will be forwarded to the bereaved family. Additionally, in lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be sent via mail directly to Jordan Grove M.B Church in honor of his memory (PO Box 1281, Bainbridge, GA 39818).
