Remembering the Life and Legacy of
Margaret Ann Hughes
Margaret Ann Hughes was born on October 16, 1952, in Donalsonville, GA to James Christian, Sr. and Mary Christian. She was the youngest of five children. Margaret had two sisters and two brothers: Roosevelt and James Christian, Shirley Adams, and Jeanette Christian.
Margaret attended and graduated from Seminole County High School where she graduated in 1971. Soon after graduation, she left Donalsonville, GA to start her adult life. Margaret was extremely dedicated to her family. After leaving home, she found herself traveling and taking care of her nieces full time post-graduation.
In 1972, Margaret met the love of her life, Kennedy Hughes Sr. Their love story began that very year, and they were joined in holy matrimony soon after in 1973. Although she was a woman of many passions and many talents, Margaret continued her mission to stay devoted to her family. Margaret became a full-time housewife and mother to her four children. She was the mother of four: Kimberly, Tonya, Kennedy II, and Marquise Hughes. Their sentiments relay that she was indeed the best and ideal mother and her job was not only well done but left a lasting imprint on their lives to this very day.
She is survived by: her husband: Kennedy Hughes Sr, three out of four of her children: Kimberly Hughes, Kennedy Hughes II, and Marquise Hughes; her nine grandchildren: Marcus, Anthony, Bryan Ashwood, De’Andre, Deion, Tyree Flagler, Kidada, Kylee, and James Parks (Jr); and nine great grandchildren; Margaret is also survived by her son-in laws, sister, and brothers-in-law: James Parks Sr of Donalsonville, GA and Darnell Hopson of Woodbridge, VA, Josie and Eloise Christian of Donalsonville GA; Gwendolyn Bell of Williston, FL, Martha Ray of Gainesville, FL, Marian Hughes of Bradenton, FL, Sherrill Martin (Reynold) of Miami, FL, Vetta Moten of Lakeland, FL, Lawrence (Velma), Ezzard C.
