Obituary
Mrs. Mariel Montez Battle-Taylor affectionately known as “Mickey” was born on March 4, 1946 in Bainbridge, Georgia. God loaned this life of Mariel to Horace Battle Sr. and Lillian Beden Battle, both of whom preceded her in death. She accepted Christ at an early age and was eventually united in holy matrimony with Cleo Taylor Jr. (Deceased).
Mrs. Taylor departed her life on September 22, 2021 at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge, Georgia. Mariel was always a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was known for her unforgettable facial expressions and always left a lasting impression on all she came into contact with.
Family
She was preceded in death by her parents: Horace and Lillian Battle; husband: Cleo Taylor, Jr.; brothers: Horace Battle Jr. Adolphus Battle; John Battle (Sammie), and Marvin Battle (Mary); Sister: Thelma Lou Battle Cummings, Toy Dean Battle Curry, Hazel Battle Penick and Ida Jean Breedlove (Aaron).
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons: Chris Battle (Shajuana) of Plant City, FL and Deron Taylor of Glen Burnie, MD; two daughters: Susan Taylor (Malik Ali) Gainesville, GA and Sandra Taylor of Bainbridge, GA; Honorary son: Keith Taylor (Mykita) of Jacksonville, FL; Honorary Godson: Steven Connell; twelve grandchildren: Kristen, Jaquine, Derrious, Jasmine, Kendra, Rasheed, Carlos, Tyshira, Autray, Malasia, Aaliyah, Chris Jr.; seventeen great grandchildren: Tytiaunah, Trenidee, Noah, Hunter, Charleigh, Jordyn, Javion, Journni, Derrious Jr., Zian, Kairo, Lavander, Ja’zion, Ja’King, Jhionni, Harlem, Arlo; brothers: Jeremiah Battle (Betty) of Mulberry, FL
and Willie jean Battle of Fort Myers, FL; sister: Marilyn Denise Bryant of Bainbridge, GA;
best friends: Willie ManGlen and Carolyn Dumas; and a host of nieces, nephews,
family and friends.
