Phenomenal Woman
Deaconess Marilyn Johnson Harris was born August 30, 1960 in Gadsden County, Florida to the Late Abraham Johnson and the Late Lottie Murphy Miller.
Sister Harris was educated in the Gadsden County School System. She was a member of the 1978 graduating class of James A. Shanks High School of Quincy, Fl.
She confessed Christ at an early age at Second Elizabeth M.B. Church where she sung in the church choir. After marriage, she moved her membership to the St. Thomas M.B. Church. She was a devoted member and she served as a Deaconess until her untimely demise.
Sis. Harris was united in Holy Matrimony in 1987 to the Late Deacon Johnnie C. Harris Jr. She was employed with Weavexx for several years and later with the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital until her health didn’t allow her to work any longer.
Sister Marilyn J. Harris departed this walk of life on March 7, 2017. She was a faithful and loving wife, a caring mother, sister, aunt, cousin, a faithful deaconess to the St. Thomas Church family, and a friend to many. In addition, she was a Christian woman that put all her trust in God.
Sis. Harris was preceded in death by her parents, Abraham Johnson Jr. & Lottie Murphy Miller, lifelong guardian, Lessie M. Simmons, her brother, Dennis Murphy, and her husband, Deacon Johnnie C. Harris Jr. .
She leaves to cherish her precious memories two loving children: Lakisha T. Donald and Abria J. Harris. A granddaughter: Chrimontrez T. Jones; A step-sister: Evelyn Bradley; Godchildren: Sheryl Walters, and Dontaivious Tribue, Jerrell Showers, Keldrick Clem, and Gwendolyn Clary; Sister-In-Laws: Catherine Harris and Glenda Clem; Brother-in-Laws: Charles Harris, Tony Harris (Tammie), and Donald Harris; And two special daughters: Subrina “Love” Bell-Florence (Anthony) and April “Peaches” Walker.
In addition to her immediate family, she leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends to cherish her memories.
