Sister Mary Barnes was born on May 18, 1942, to Mr. Arthur Harper Sr. and Mrs. Alice Harper in Decatur County, GA. Sister Barnes joined Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church and attended faithfully.
She is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Harper, Mother Alice Harper, Brothers: Nelson Harper, Jessie James Harper and Griffin Harper, and her sister Geneva English.
She leaves behind a devoted husband: Thomas T. Barnes; three sons: Daryl Butler (Kathye), William Butler (Annie “Doris”), and Jonathan Butler (Ortega). Four brothers: Eddie L. Harper (Charlotte) of Detroit, MI; Arthur Harper Jr. (Gloria) of New Castle, DE; Chester Harper of Columbus GA; and Tommy Harper (Marsha) of Colquitt, GA; Grandchildren: Shonteh Joseph, Charelle Plowden, Daryl Butler, Jr., Shendora Butler, Jarius Scott, Derrick Butler, Katlin Butler, Alyssia Ross and Jonathan Butler Jr. Great grandchildren: Jhani Butler, Tony Plowden, Mya Plowden, Breonna Plowden, Journi Butler, Kalani Scott, and Khalia Scott and a host of nieces and nephews and other grieving family and friends. A devoted friend - Hattie Scott and tribute to Archbold Home Health Care for their support and care provided.
