Obituary
Sunrise: August 6, 1971 Sunset: July 24, 2019
On Wednesday, July 24, 2019, Michael O'Neal Adams, a loving son, brother, friend, and father passed away at the age of 47 years. Born on August 6, 1971 to the late Arrie Louise Fortner & Alfonza Adams in Decatur County, GA. Loved and nurtured under the guidance of his Mother and Step-Father Woodrow Fortner Jr. whom he loved beyond measure. Michael attended Elkin King elementary, Cairo High School, and later Job Corps for all his educational needs. He pursued passions as a Line Cook, General Laborer, Crewman @ McDonalds, and Tire Tech @ Cairo Tire Shop. Michael, often called "Bat Mike, Black, or C-Bond" will be forever remembered by his family & friends for his infectious laughter, matter of fact mannerisms and protective love for his family. In the pleasure of his company, you could attest to his boisterous laughter, cheerful disposition and upbeat work ethics.
Mike confessed Jesus Christ at age 8, during Union Missionary Baptist Vacation Bible School, was baptized and pledge his heart to UMBC until his death. He loved people and was always concerned about how the world would turn out in the end. Although, a jokester, Mike was compassionate, thoughtful and eager to do right by God. He wanted everyone to know he was raised up with a love of God in the Pear Orchard of Bainbridge GA, on Motown & James Brown. He lived life fully and never strayed too far from his sister, Pamela.
Never one to shy away from awkward conversations, Mike praised the LORD for his gift of family and friends. He had many loves in his life but held passion within his heart for only one. His childhood reflections, memories, and wildly stated antidotes are all part of the charm that made Mike soar and thrive. A hard worker at every task assigned, he enjoyed working by the sweat of his back and brow.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory; A loving daughter: Allura Z. Adams, Orlando, FL; Five siblings: Sharon Wilkerson (Tyrone), Tallahassee, FL; Gregory McGriff (Candace), Havana, FL; Pamela Beauchamp-Hall (Jesse), Whigham, GA; Tamika Francis Fortner (Obinna), Tallahassee, FL; Timothy Fortner, Tallahassee, FL; a loving Step-father: Woodrow Fortner Jr. (Hattie), Cairo, GA; He will be sorely missed by all, especially by those that he spent his quality time with and forever remembered by his siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and dear friends.
