The Life Journey of Mint
Education and Early Years
Minnie was a pioneer in her community, attending Attapulgus LEW Elementary and Mt. Moriah before graduating from Bainbridge High School in 1974. Her class held a historic place as the first to integrate with Bainbridge Schools and the first graduating class of Attapulgus, GA. A natural athlete, Minnie was a star basketball player at Mt. Moriah High School, playing alongside her lifelong childhood friend, Patricia Johnson (Bullet); because of their seamless teamwork and close bond, they were affectionately known on the court as "The Twins, —
Minnie Will as "Mint flavor" and Patricia Ann as "Bullet." Following high school, Minnie attended Fort Lauderdale College in Tallahassee, FL, where she successfully obtained her Associate Degree in Accounting, and other certifications in Business Administration and Data processing. This achievement was a testament to her natural gift for numbers and her disciplined, organized nature.
Her personality: "Minnie was a natural-born leader with a military spirit. She was known as the 'General' of the family, always ready to take charge, give orders, and ensure that everyone stayed in line. Her ability to command a room and lead with authority was matched only by her desire for perfection in everything she did."
Professional Life
Minnie was a dedicated professional, serving many years at Amoco Fabrics & Fibers and Shaw Industries. She also worked part-time at Junior Mall until her health began to decline..
Faith and Fellowship
For many years, Minnie was a faithful and devoted Christian at St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church. She later found a spiritual home fellowshipping with Restoration Worship Family Center in Bainbridge, GA, under Bishop-Elect Daryl and Pastor Linda Faison.
A Testament of Love
Minnie brought joy and light to every room. She was deeply family-oriented and took great pride in raising her two wonderful sons, who loved her dearly. She was known for her meticulous organization, her gift for numbers, loved to sew and mend garments, and enjoyed the simple pleasure of playing bingo.
Minnie shared a deep bond with her companion, Willie Flowers. So profound was their connection that they decided to transition together; their passing just hours apart serves as a powerful testament to a love that would not be separated, even in death.
